Welcome to Willow Worlds.

Willow Worlds is a community-led research project supported by the Royal Society of Edinburgh (Healthy Planet, Healthy People). We have been working over the last 3-5 years on the use of willow (salix viminalis or basket willow) for making fedge structures that can redirect deer and save tree plantations. We see fedge as a plastic-free tree guard as well as a carbon capturing and wildlife enabling force of nature.

This Substack is where we document our research, the thoughts we have as we work with willow and what we find out.
